Starting in 1896 as a subsidiary of the Triumph-Motorcycle Company (Coventry, Great Britain) in Nuremberg, Germany the brand is an equivalent for german engineering skills. The first typewriters were produced in 1909.

In 2003 the TA Triumph-Adler AG decided to cencentrate on document processing and so the trademark Twen® by TA Triumph-Adler AG was sold to the bandermann-Group which was the largest customer for typewriters, calculators, laser printer cartridges and document shredders before.

Since the bandermann-group focuses on the development and production of Twen®-products according to the traditional quality and reliablity-standards that made Twen® by TA Triumph-Adler products successful in the past.
